Direct Debit

Unlike traditional direct debit systems that need manual file uploads, Monoova simplifies the process with an easy to use API for debiting Australian bank accounts. Direct debit is a “pull” transaction where the merchant requests payment, and the customer’s bank authorizes it.

Funds direct debited from a customers account are deposited within your account the next day, and can be deposited in your main mAccount or in a ledger account.

If you are not utilising the API, direct debits can also be managed through the Monoova Portal.

Single and Batch Direct Debits

The paymentSource parameter is used to determine whether the API will accept a single bank account or a list.

if the paymentSource is bulkDirectDebit, a list of accounts to be debited can be supplied, each with their own amount, lodgement reference and remitter name.

Direct Debit Using the Portal

To enable direct debit via the Monoova portal, contact Monoova support. Like the API, you can direct debit a single account or upload a file to debit accounts as a batch.

Inbound Direct Debits

You can set up direct debits for your virtual account numbers with external merchants. Stay informed about these transactions through the Receive Inbound Direct Debits Webhook or by accessing the Inbound Direct Debit Report.
